Today has been a CRAZY day. I started out waiting at the bus stop for a long long time with the three girls from China. A bus came and we got on, and then it was the wrong bus, so we got off, and then we waiting more and another bus came, but it was going the wrong way, so we waiting more, and finally our bus came. Apparently on Sunday, the busses run on two hour intervals. Not very convenient :)

We went to into town, and I really just wanted to explore by myself, so I sorta ditched them. I felt bad, but my plan for the day was to go sit and read by the lake, and just go on an adventure. So, I started out at a little outdoor cafe on the lake. It was really cool to sit and read, watch people, and listen to the weird music playing on the radio. I walked down the lake, past all of the cafes, and just looked at people.

I found myself a nice bench under a tree to sit on, right on the lake. While I was reading, a lot of people came and went beside me on the bench.
One woman came and when she asked in German if she could sit, I answered in English, which started a whole conversation. She asked why I was in Friedrichshafen, how long I would be staying, and then proceeded to tell me her life story. She told me about how she went to boarding school in England, and had a college semester in NY, and one in Florida, and she lived in South Africa for a while. She told me about all of her children, and everything they do, and where they all live. She told me about her grand children, and which one was her favorite, and how one looks like an apple cause she has really red cheeks. After she told me her story, and I told her a little of mine, she gave me her address and phone number so if I need anything while I am here, I can just find her.
It is really interesting to me how strange this would be to an American. It's like the lady with the dishes the other day. If someone walked up to you in a grocery store and told you to come get dishes from their house, you would probably go hide somewhere. And if someone in America sat on a bench and told you their story, then told you to call them, you would probably tell a story to your friends about how crazy that person was.
People here are so trusting, kind, and not only willing, but wanting to help anyway they can. Americans are so afraid of being taken advantage of, or loosing their privacy. This would never happen in America! It's really cool to see what happens when you open your mind and let down silly American walls.
So, I don't know if I will ever call this woman, but it's nice to know people in the world are so willing to help people they don't even know. God has really shown me a lot on this trip, and it's only been a week.

Anyway, here are some pictures from my adventure today:
This is at my bus stop, it's about five minutes from my apartment. As you can see, one of the Zeppelin campuses is right there, so also just five minutes from my apartment.

This is a little tower right on the lake when you get to Friedrichshafen. I climbed it, despite my fear of heights and fact that I run out of breath after one flight of stairs. Yeah, I am out of shape. Don't judge me. The next few pictures are the view from the top of the tower.

I found myself a little bench to sit on, and I took some pictures of the mountains.
I attempted to get  better picture of the mountains through one of those coin binocular things. It didn't really work out.
I need someone to go swimming with in the lake! You can rent these really cool paddle boats, and paddle out in the lake to swim. I'm jealous of these people.
As I was reading my book, I was surprised by what sounded like an airplane, but had a huge shadow that didn't go away for a while. It's a zeppelin! Can you believe it? I'm sitting down the street from the Zeppelin Museum!

Tschuss!
