I accidentally bought sparkling mineral water today...

I took the plunge yesterday and went on an adventure. I asked the girl at the front desk where I should go, and then I asked the guy at the train station which tram pass I should by. I ended up at Bahnhofstraße, which is apparently the famous shopping district here in Zurich. There were three H&Ms in four blocks. Pretty exciting. I bought new sonnenbrille since I had left mine in my hotel room.
The next street over walks along a huge lake, so I took that for a while, and watched some swans and ducks swim around.

I ate at a McDonalds for the free wifi, but that didn’t work out, because they had to send you a code in a text, and my phone was out of service. Boo. Anyway, I attempted to order in German, which should not have been that difficult, but I panicked, and the girl looked at me like I was out of my mind and then asked in English if I wanted the Big Mac. I just nodded and smiled.

I sat on the lake for a while; I think it was called Zurichsee. On the other side, you can see mountains, which, since I am in Switzerland, I just assume are the Alps.

I’m not sure if it is all of Switzerland, but at least Zurich is very expensive. Everywhere I looked to eat was 25-30 francs, which is 30-35 dollars. My Big Mac meal at McDonalds was 12 francs, or about 15 dollars. So, I just ate breakfast here at the hotel, since it’s included.
Today I am heading back to the airport to catch a train to Friedrichshafen. I’m pretty excited to get settled in at my apartment. It will be nice to not have to pay by the minute for wifi, and hear the people next door to me yelling in something Arabic.

Tchuss!
